“In 1st through 3rd grades, my grades were really poor even though I was trying as hard as I knew how. My school experience was really frustrating. At the beginning of 4th grade I was admitted to the Discovery Center. For the first time I was tested to find out why I was not learning. It was discovered that I had auditory discrimination problems which really slowed down my language development and processing. Instead of teaching me to read, I was taught how to learn in the Discovery Center.”

“After I was admitted to the Discovery Center in 4th grade, my grades gradually began to improve. By 5th grade, I earned a “B” average. Valley’s not a pushover in the high school, and this last trimester I earned a 3.2 GPA. My goal is to go to college and I know that without the help I received from the Discovery Center, college would have been an impossible dream.
