High School
Graduation Requirements
Each student is expected to spend the full four years in high
school. Attending summer school or carrying more than a normal
load during the regular school year should be regarded as an enrichment
of the student’s education rather than an accelerated program.
Class standing will be based on the
total number of credits successfully achieved.
To be eligible for:
- Sophomore activities, a student must
have completed 50 credits.
- Junior activities, a student must have
completed 100 credits.
- Senior activities, a student must have
completed 155 credits.
A senior will not be awarded a diploma
and may not participate in the graduation ceremony until he has
completed all requirements and accumulated the total credits necessary.
All financial obligations, including a graduation fee, must be
met before the student can participate in commencement exercises.
Students are expected to be at VCHS
with a full 7 period course load, unless participating in a technical program
or college program in the Senior year. Seniors meeting graduation
requirements may be permitted to have an unscheduled first or
last period. They must, however, leave campus or be in supervised
areas after their last class.

in two sports after 9th grade qualifies a student for 10 units
of PE credit.
***Students must either take the Computer Software course, or pass the challenge test for this requirement.
THE TOTAL MINIMUM CREDITS REQUIRED
